Pontefract and Windsor

large fields at today´s two flat meetings in the U.K., but only 5 turn out for the main feature, the listed Silver Tankard at Pontefract for 2yo´s over a mile at 16.40 CET. One of these, Mick Channon´s Lahaleeb (Sam Hitchcott) was a Group Two winner at Newmarket on Saturday and if he runs again would have an outstanding chance. The danger is clearly Michael Jarvis` Playfellow (Philip Robinson), third in a Doncaster Group Two last time after easily winning his first two races. The Acatenango gelding First Look (Peter Monteith/ Paul Fessey) is an intriguing runner in the 2 1/4 miles handicap at 17.10, having shown form both over sticks and fences. Miss Serna (Pam Sly/ Micky Fentpon) and CD specialist Thewhirlingdervosh (Tim Easterby/ David Allan) are the two main dangers. At Windsor, the best race is the 1 1/2 mile handicap for 3yo´s at 17.00, which any of the 8 runners could win. Top-weight Safari Sunup (Peter Winkworth/ Stephen Carson), consistent Inchwood (Michael Jarvis/ Da rryll Holland) and Jaadull (Mark Johnston/ Jamie Spencer), stepping up in distance, are three possibilities.
