German-breds at Plumpton

N.H. racing today at Plumpton, where the most interesting event is the 2 mile maiden hurdle at 15.20 CET. Thjere are 3 German-breds in the field of 14 and it would no huge suprise were they to take the first three places. Carmond (Brendan Poell/ Tony McCoy), who won the Slovakian Derby for Andreas Wöhler last year. has alraedy run respectably over hurdles, while Evan Williams saddles two runners, Bergo (Christian Williams) and Nordwind (Donal Fahy). Noprdwind showed fair handicap form for Walter Swinburn, while Bergo, who is coming off a long break, is having his first run in the U.K. However he was easily the best of these on the flat and can score at the first time of asking for renowned punter Harry Findlay. In the following handicap hurdle over 3 miles 1 1/2 furlongs, Papeete (Mrs. N. Smith/ Gemma Gracey-Davidson) would have a chance on his best form, which however he does not always show; the prolific point-to-point winner North Island (Alison Thorpe/ Richard Johnson) lo oks a more reliable proposition.

Betting forecast:
1.Race: Apache Dawn - Carmond - Nordwind
2.Race: Phone In - Papeete - North Island
3.Race: Havenstone - Transvestite - Knock Boy
4.Race: Earcomesannie - Le Forezien - Left Hand Drive
