Racing in the provinces today in France, but the Craon meeting has a strong card, featuring the listed Criterium de l´Ouest for 2yo´s over 1650 metres at 14.50 and the Grand Prix de la Ville de Craon-Mayenne, the 9th stage of the Defi du Galop series over 2400 metres at 15.50, with 7 runners in each. Ex-German Loup de Mer, claimed recently out of Werner Baltromei´s stable, is a runner in the latter event, while in the former race the most interesting runner is Sheikh Mohammed´s Prize Magic (Henri-Alex Pantall/ Johan Victoire), whose dam Cape Verdi won the 1,000 Guineas in 1998 and actually started favourite for the Derby! There is also trotting at Feurs.
