German runners at Deauville

Another busy day for German-trained runners at Deauville, who are active in 5 of the 8 races, but not in the main feature, a listed race for 3yo´s over 3000 metres at 14.20; the sole foreign runner here is Willie Muir´s Enroller (Martin Dwyer), whose best form was his 5th place in the Queen´s Vase at Royal Ascot. Werner Baltromei saddles Shawnee Saga in the tiercé handicap for 3yo´s over 2500 metres at 13.50 and Samiro in the second division at 17.20. Both will be partnered by Dominique Boeuf, who is also aboard the trainer´s Loup de Mer in a claiming race over 2700 metres at 16.50; here he faces stiff opposition from the other German runner Kasus (Pawel Vovcenko/ Christophe Soumillon). Boeuf also rides Himmelchen for Hans Blume in the 1500 metres race for 3yo´s at 14.50, while Christian von der Recke sends Mister Minister (Antony Cardine) for the claimer over 1500 metres for young jockeys and apprentices at 15.30. There is also flat racing at Vichy, where the only German runner is Dieter Fechner´s Marek (Ioritz Mendizabal) in the 1800 metres conditions race at 15.05. The big danger here is Baron Ullmann´s Saldenlicht (André Fabre/ Johan Victoire). There is also trotting this evening at Cabourg.
