Inspection at Gowran Park

The bad weather in Ireland continues and there is an inspection today at Gowran Park. If this evening´s meeting gets the green light, the going is certain to be very soft. Main feature is the 9 1/2 furlongs listed race for fillies at 19.50 CET, in which the Aga Khan´s Katiyra (John Oxx/ Mick Kinane) is the obvious form choice following her good performances in the English and Irish Oaks. However the trip seems on the short side, and there is plenty of opposition, with Aidan O´Brien saddling four runners, the best of whom is presumably Psalm (Seamus Heffernan), while Jim Bolger´s Shreyas (Kevin Manning) is also dangerous. She won a maiden race this CD last week by 11 lengths on only her second start and looks well up to this class. Incidentally, the 3 group races lost when the Curragh´s fixture last Sunday had to be abandoned, will now be run at this weekend´s Leopardstown meeting.
