German runners at Clairefontaine

leading German trainer/ jockey combination of Peter Schiergen and Andrasch Starke are in action today at Clairefontaine with 2 runners, Blue Damask in the 1400 metres conditions race at 14.20 and the unraced 2yo filly Novita over the same distance at 16.00. While the latter is difficult to assess, and faces some well-bred opponents, the former, despite the outside draw, has an obvious chance and should certainly hold the other German runner, Pavel Vovcenko´s Gainsbury (Christophe Soumillon), a recent Bad Doberan winner. Another Grman-trained runner today is Hans Blume´s Dorosia, a winner at Hamburg´s Derby meeting, who runs in the lady amateur riders race over 2200 metres at 17.05 with Vanessa Rodenbusch in the saddle. There is also trotting this afternoon at Mauquenchy and this evening at Les Sables.
