Mammoth cards at Newbury and Newmarket

One man´s meat is another man´s poison, and the bad news of the abandonment of the entire Ebor meeting at York has to a certain extent been cancelled by the speedy and efficient action of the BHA in allocating the top events to other racetracks this weekend. Newbury and Newmarket are the main beneficiaries today, with the Gimcrack and the "Ebor" (under another name) added to Newbury´s card, which now has 8 races, and the Yorkshire Oaks, Nunthorpe Stakes and DNS Sales Race added to Newmarket´s card, which now has 11 races. This evening´sNewcastle card has been abandoned, but Hamilton this evening goes ahead after an early morning inspection, while in Ireland Tralee has again been abandoned, and the N.H. meeting at Kilbeggan is now hurdles-only.
