Chester and Fontwell this evening

Fontwell lies near the English South coast and has obviously missed most of the bad wearther, as the going for this evening´s N.H. meeting is reported to be good to firm. These conditions should be ideal for the German Group One winner Donaldson (Jonjo O´Neill/ Tony McCoy) who looks a good thing to win the novice hurdle at 19.25 CET. Shore Thing (Charlie Egerton/ Paddy Brennan), an easy Uttoxeter winner recently after a long layoff, looks the obvious danger, as it unlikely that yesterday´s Newton Abbot winner Option Money will turn out again and, even if he does, he cannot normally give a stone to Donaldson. There is also flat racing at Chester where the 1 1/2 mile handicap at 19.10 looks quite open. First Avenue (Michael Jarvis/ Philip Robinson) is the likely favourite after being placed 4 times running, but Leslingtaylor (John Quinn/ Graham Gibbons), who has not won on the flat for 2 years but is much improved over jumps, could be a big danger, as well as Polish-bred Dzesmi n (Richard Fahey/ Freddie Tylicki), having his first race for this shrewd trainer. Godolphin have booked the promising apprentice Louis-Philippe Beuzelin to ride last Saturday´s easy Newbury winner Craigstown in the 10 furlongs handicap at 20.40, but Just Rob (Reg Hollinshead/ Gibbons), runner-up his last 3 races, deserves to win here, as does John Gosden´s Rhadegunda (Jimmy Fortune), also runner-up her last 3 starts, in the following fillies´ maiden race.
