Hamilton and Lingfield

With Epsom´s Derby meeting starting tomorrow, it is obvious that this afternoon´s two flat meetings, at Hamilton and Lingfield (all-weather) are very low-key, with only class 5 and 6 races on the programme. The best races at the Scottish track are the class 5 handicaps at 16.40 CET, 17.40 and 18.10. The mile race at 16.40 is made more complicated by the fact that local trainer Linda Perratt saddles three runners, of whom Oeuf a la Neige (Daragh O´Donohoe) could come out best, while an hour later 16 line up for the 6 furlongs handicap, with top-weight Coleorton Dancer (Kevin Ryan/ Andrew Mullen), recent CD winner The Bear (Bob Jpohnson/ Graham Gibbons) and Rainbow Fox (Richard Fahey/ Paul Hanagan), runner-up te last twice, just three of many possoiblöes. Best bet at Hamilton is La Vecchia Scuola (Jim Goldie/ Daniel Tudhope), who is much improved over hurdles and can defy top weight in the 1 mile 5 furlongs handicap at 18.10. At Lingfield, the 6 furlongs handicap for 3yo fillies can go to top-weight Requisite (Ian Wood/ Seb Sanders), although Rosie Says No (she said yes to me) (Robert Cowell/ Shane Kelly) also has prospects. The maiden race for 3- and 4yos at 16.50 has 14 entries, but should lie between Transfer (Andrew Balding/ William Buick) and Farthermost (Richard Hannon/ Richard Hughes), while German-bred Napoletano (Simon Dow/ Seb Sanders), has won two of his last 3 races and can score again at 17.50.
