Group Three at Leopardstown

The Wednesday evening meetings at Leopardstown frequently offer high class sport, and today is no exception with a group race on the card. This is the Group Three Ballyogan Stakes for fillies and mares over 6 furlongs at 20.00 CET and the field of 11 includes three British raiders - Cartimandua (Ed McMahon/ Graham Gibbons), Manzila (David and Adrian Nicholls) and Eastern Romance (Kevin Ryan/ Fergal Lynch), all of whom could finish in the money. Jim Bolger´s My Girl Sophie (Kevin manning), who won o Monday at Naad, looks best of the locals. The listed race over mile an hour later has also attracted a good field.Last time out winners Ferneley (Francis Ennis/ Willie Supple) and Summit Surge (Ger Lyons/ Johnny Murtagh) clearly come into the reckoning, but the interesting one here is 7yo Mustameet (Kevin Prendergast/ Declan McDonogh), who has not run for over a year, but is better than this opposition if anywhere near his best form.
