Evening racing at Kempton and Ripon

Evening racing today from Kempton (all-weather) and Ripon, where the ground is certain to be very testing after yesterday´s rain. The best race there is the class 3 handicap over a mile at 21.20 CET, with several veterans in the field of 10, including 9yo´s Bustan (Giles Bravery/ Robert Winston) and Vicious Warrior (Richard Whitaker/ Dean McKeown) as well as 8yo Stoic Leader (Roger Fisher/ Royston Ffrench), all of whom have chances. However Wigwam Willie (Kevin Ryan/ Neil Callan), a relative youngster at six, runs his best races on this ground and could be the answer. At Kempton, the card features a listed race over 5 furlongs at 20.40 which looks very competitive. Galeota (Richard Hannon/ Ryan Moore) would have a great chance on the form he showed in younger days, but has not really fired since his comeback foillowing an unsuccessful spell at stud. The 3yo Group Therapy (Jamie Osborne/ Shane Kelly) also had good juvenile form, but has not run for over a year. Matsunosuke (A.B.Coogan/ Kerrin McEvoy), Green Manalishi (Kevin Ryan/ Daragh O´Donohoe) and Judd Street (Eve Jpohnson Houghton/ Steve Carson) also come into the reckoning. The class 3 handicap over 10 furlomgs at 20.10 sees the return of Godolphin´s loghtly-raced Spring City (Saeed bin Suroor/ Kerrin McEvoy), who looks capable of making an impression at a much higher grade., He has a superb German pedigree, being by Monsun out of Spirit of Eagles (dam also of Silvano and Sabiango). The main threat comes from Kaateb (William Haggas/ Richard Hills), also a progressive Maktoum-owned performer.
