Ireland today

It is a also a busy day in Ireland, with a high class card from the Curragh as well as N.H. racing (with huge fields)from Down Royal and Limerick. The Curragh stages 3 Grpoup Three races today, starting wit the Tetrarch Stakes over 7 furlongs for3yo´s at 15.40 CET. Bruges (David Myerscough/ Willie Supple) created a very favourable impression when winning both his starts last year, and although he has been off the track since July, can remain unbeaten. Well-bred War Eagle (David Wachman/ Johnny Murtagh) looks the main danger. The Athasi Stakes for fillies and mares at 16.10 is also over 7 furlongs, and Mick Channon´s Silver Touch (Tadge O´Shea) can possibly score a British success, but Dimenticata (Kevin Prendergast/ Chris Hayes) and Cheyenne Star (Frances Crowley/ Seamus Heffernan) are serious opponents. Some smart older horses line up in the Mooresbridge Stakes over 10 furlongs at 17.10. Aidan O´Brien´s Mount Nelson looks the interesting one here; a Group One winner in France at two, he has only raced once since, when down the field in the Champion Stakes. If anywhere near his best,. he would hold an obvious chance. Recommended on recent form is Jessica Harrington`s Jumbajukita (Davy Condon), already a group winner this year this CD, while consistent Mores Wells (Kevin Prendergast/ Declan McDonogh) can never be left out of calculations.
