Ireland today

There is a good flat card at Gowran Park today, as well as N.H. racing from Sligo (6 races over hurdkes and a bumper). The classic trial over 1 1/2 miles at 16.35 CET at Gowran Park sees Hebridean (Aidan O´Brien/ Seamus Heffernan) and Unwritten Rule (Dermot Weld/ Pat Smullen) in opposition again. They finished first and second in the Ballysax Stakes at Leopardstown a fortnight ago, but it is possible that Weld´s runner can reverse the form over this longer trip. The Aga Khan´s Ebadiyan (John Oxx/ Mick Kinane) is moving up in grade but is a promising stayer and can possibly beat them both. The same connections have good chances of winning the listed fillies race over 9 furlongs at 17.10 with Zafayra, also an easy winner at Dundalk last time. Chinese White (Weld/ Smulölen) who won her only race last season in good style, looks the danger. At Sligo the going is heavy, and there are maximum fields for most races. However only 10 run in the hurdle race at 17.30, which should go to Willie Mullins´ Young Milly (Ruby Walsh). Walsh can double up half an hour later with Rare Article for Dessie Hughes in the maiden hurdle over 2 1/4 miles.
