German runners in France today

After German-trained runners won 3 races yesterday at Saint-Cloud, hopes are high that they can carry on the good work on a much stronger card at Longchamp. There are 2 German runners in each of the main features, a listed race for 2yo´s at 15.10 CET and a listed race over a mile at 15.45, and it is by no means impossible that all 4 of them finish in the money. In the former race Stark Danon (Waldemar Hickst/ Dominique Boeuf), who won in good style at Baden-Baden, and Prince de la Nuit (Axel Kleinkorres/ Stephane Pasquier) take on 6 locals, including German-bred Luna Negra (Jean-Claude Rouget/ Ioritz Mendizibal, a Big Shuffle filly who has won her last 3 races. In the mile race König Bernard (Werner Baltromei/ Boeuf) and Forthemillionkiss (Uwe Ostmann/ Gaetan Masure) are the German runners, and with ground drying out, we particularly like the first-named.

There are also German runners in several other races, including 3 in the conditions race for 3yo´s for apprentices at 16.15, where Samardal (Andras Wöhler/ Thomas Messina) could go well, and two in the conditions race over 2000 metres at 16.45, in which Wöhler´s Toughness Danon (Eddie Pedroza) meets Ordenstreuer (Hans- Walter Hiller/ Pasquier) among others.
