listed races at Chester and Fairyhouse

there is plenty more racing today, with listed events at Chester and Fairyhouse (Ireland) as well as the big races at Ascot and York. The 6 furlongs race at Fairyhouse, due at 16.15 CET, looks wide open. Of the older horses, Snaefell (Mike Halford/ Pat Smullen) - who would however prefer softer going- Duff (Eddie Lynam/ Fran Berry) and in-foal front-runner Miss Gorica (Joanna Morgan/ Wayne Lordan) are very reliable at this level, but we prefer the 3yo´s. Velvet Flicker (Kevin Prendergast/ Declan McDonough) was runner-up here over 7 furlongs, with several of these opponents behind, last time, but in our view the Royal Ascot form of Rock Jock (Tracy Collins/ Pat Snanahan) looks stronger.
At Chester, Lord Shanakill (Henry Cecil/ Tom Queally) has an obvious chance in the 7 furlongs race at 15.15; he has been running in much better company, and was not disgraced last time in the Golden Jubilee. Queally, who is having a good run, can also take the 5 furlongs race at 16.20 on Robin Bastiman´s Borderlescott, who also ran an excellent race at Royal Ascot when third to Equiano (who boosted the form yesterday). The trainer has not won a race for two months, which is slightly worrying, but can be back in the winner´s circle today.

Betting forecast Chester:
1. Race: Lord Shanakill - Ashram - Dunelight
2. Race: Inspirina - King`S Masque - Dark Ranger
3. Race: Borderlescott - Glamorous Spirit - Reverence
4. Race: Simonside - Theola - Arab League
5. Race: Earl Wild - Welsh Inlet - Tilliemint
6. Race: Green Park - Legal Eagle - Bahamian Lad
7. Race: Another Magic Man - Mejd - Nubar Boy
