once again, mainly very modest racing at today´s two all-weather meetings, Lingfield this afternoon and a twilight meeting at Kempton. The best race at Lingfield is the mile handicap at 15.50 CET. This looks quite open, and several of these runners have already met this year. For example, Hereford Boy (Dean Ivory/ Robert Havlin) ran out a narrow winner over this CD a week ago, with Gallantry (Paul Howling/ George Baker) 4th and Prince of Thebes (Mike Attwater/ Paul Dow) 5th. Almost anything is possible here, but we would not be suprised to see Gallantry to come out on top at the revised weights.
There is a similar scenario in the 5 furlongs handicap at 18.30 at Kempton. Glamorous Spirit (Ron Harris/ Chris Catlin), Absa Lutte (Pat Morris/ James Sullivan), Lord of the Reins (James Given/ Jimmy Quinn) and The Tatling (Milton Bradley/ Robert Winston) all finished behind Nickel Silver at Kempton last week. On a good day, oldtimer The Tatling can always win in this grade, but he appears to be out of form at present, and Glamorous Spirit is a very tentative suggestion. Punters are faced by a different problem in the 1 1/2 mile handicap for 3yo´s at 19.30, as there are only 3 runners, all with good recent form. This is not a race to bet on, but in view of the tremendous stable form, Lovers Causeway (Mark Johnston/ Joe Fanning) just about gets the vote.
