Interesting races in longchamp

Longchamp, Thursday, 6 July: Eight races will be decided today in Longchamp. The Prix du Pont Mirabeau (5th race/19.35/40.000 Euro/2000 m), run as a handicap, appeals to three-year-old horses.

Despite maximum weight, Swing Vote (Mickael Barzalona), trained by Andre Fabre for Godolphin, should be the winner. Two wins and a fifth place at List level at Chantilly speak for him. Five pounds cheaper in the lot is Khahira (Christophe Soumillon), who had no chance in the Prix de Diane (Group 1). Before that, she collected smaller place money here at an upmarket level. Splendino (Anthony Crastus) almost became a series winner in Marseille, but the Reynier stallion was narrowly beaten by A Minardiere (Thomas Trullier), who finished well behind Khahira in the Prix de la Seine (List race). Haptics (Clement Lecoeuvre) recently won a Quinté handicap after battling Lofsongur Islande (Eddy Hardouin), among others, who finished fifth for the third time in a row. Circeo (Gerald Mosse) was at least better in the Prix de Guiche (Group 3) than Rajapour, who finished tenth in the French Derby.
