Derby Trials at Lingfield

Lingfield, Saturday 13 May: Great sport is on offer at Lingfield today where two sighting trials for the Derby are on the programme.

The Oaks Trial (3rd race/16.00/50,000 pounds/2400m) sees Be Happy (Ryan Moore), third in the Prix Penelope (Group 3), well in front. Bright Diamond (Sam James) made an appearance with her third in the Fillies Mile (Group 1) and, like Eternal Hope (William Buick), victorious over sand at Chelmsford, and Sunset Point (Rob Hornby), for whom Charlie Appleby) is responsible, is expected to be well in front.

In the Derby Trial (4th race/16.35pm/60,000 pounds/2400m), Godolphin colours are once again in with a chance. Military Order (William Buick) won at Newbury in the style of a better horse. Circle Of Fire (Ryan Moore) finished second at Listed level only eight days ago and is also registering first chances as is Inquiring Minds (Robert Havlin), who made his only start to date victorious.
