Deauville, Thursday, 6 April: The Turf season in France is gathering pace. Today, the three-year-olds will be tested separately by sex at Group 3 level.
In the Prix Djebel (3rd race/15.00 h/80.000 Euro/1400 m) all five participants are seasonal debutants. Here it comes to a new duel between Andre Fabres Belbek (Bauyrzhan Murzabayev) and Breizh Sky (Christophe Soumillon), who last fought for victory in the Grand Critérium (Group 1). The latter later competed in the Critérium International (Group 1) and finished fifth ahead of Kubrick (Cristian Demuro), who followed behind as favourite after winning the Prix des Chenes (Group 3). Duc de Morny (Maxime Guyon) and Good Guess (Stephane Pasquier) also already scored at an upper level.
The Prix Imprudence (5th race/16.10 h/80,000 Euro/1400 m) is much more crowded. The Fabre duo Spirit Gal (Bauyrzhan Murzabayev) and Quickstep (Mickael Barzalona) were already victorious last year and will be up against Shalromy (Maxime Guyon), who narrowly beat Lady Bullet (Aurelien Lemaitre) over sand here on 11 March, in their first race of the year. Sauterne (Christophe Soumillon) has not lost a race in three appearances and, like Beginnings (Ryan Moore), who arrives from Ireland on winning form, Wed (Cristian Demuro), who pinned the Prix du Calvados (Group 2) to her banner here, and Eternal Dance (Tony Piccone), is registering first chances.
