Fairyhouse, Monday 10 April: The `Easter Festival` at Fairyhouse ends today with an exciting eight-race card. The focus is on the 30-horse Irish Grand National (6th race/18.00/500.000 Euro/5834 m). There is no clear favourite in sight and the probability of an outsider winning is correspondingly high.
Angels Dawn (Philip Enright) and Stumptown (L. Dempsey) fought out an amateur chase race between themselves at the Festival in Cheltenham and are again conceivable in front. Panda Boy (Ricky Doyle) pleased in third before his recent strike result at Leopardstown. Thedevilscoachman (Mark Walsh) is unbeaten this year and could remain so if things go right. I Am Maximus (Paul Townend), also running for John McManus, received high praise for his running at Group 1 level at Cheltenham. Tenzing (Sean O`Keeffe) runs reliably to the front. He finished a good third here in November. Amirite (Rachael Blackmore), Chemical Energy (Keith Donoghue) and Espanito Bello (Michael O`Sullivan) were pleasing in preparation and, like the Joseph O`Brien-prepared Busselton (Shane Fitzgerald), could conceivably be up front at any time.
