Chaldean the favourite in the Greenham Stakes

Newbury, Saturday 22 April: Seven races will be run on the second day of the Dubai Duty Free Festival at Newbury. In the Greenham Stakes (3rd race/15.40pm/£90,000/1400m), all eyes will be on Andrew Balding`s Chaldean (Frankie Dettori). After an unsuccessful debut, the three-year-old was unbeatable in four further appearances last year. He advanced to a classic winner in the Dewhurst Stakes against Isaac Shelby (Sean Levey), among others, who scored a narrow victory in the Superlative Stakes (Group 2). Among the closest favourites are also Knight (James Doyle), who performed well here in the Horris Hill Stakes (Group 3), and Theoryofeverything (Robert Havlin), who caused a sensation on his debut at Doncaster.
