Carl Jaspers Prize attracts the elite to Cologne

Cologne, Sunday, 23 April: The Grand Prix horses are back in Cologne on Sunday, as the first group race in Weidenpescher Park 2023 promises to be a real drawing card. In the Carl Jaspers Prize (Group II, 70,000 Euros, 2,400 m), the aces will fight for attractive race prizes.

The number one in the field is likely to be Tünnes (R. Piechulek), whose winning streak after the St. Leger and the Grand Prix of Bavaria does not have to be over yet. A lot went against him in the Japan Cup. Now he makes his eagerly awaited debut for the year. Assistent (L. Delozier) and Mansour (A. de Vries) won the Grand Prix canter and have a conditional advantage. The top mare Wagnis (A. Starke) is an interesting candidate. Dato (B. Ganbat) impressed here last year. Best of Lips (M. Seidl) and Alter Adler (M. Abik) are also firm contenders.

Within the nine races between 11:20 am and 3:30 pm, of which the first five races are also part of the PMU card, the Equalisation II over 1,400 metres is particularly promising. Moher (W. Panov) has developed into a real winner and we again have great confidence in him.

77,777 Euros is the guaranteed payout in the "7 wins!" bet (in races 3 to 9) in the first rank for 7 correct numbers. 3,564.27 euros is in the jackpot in the second rank for 6 correct numbers.

12,500 euros are up for grabs in the four-way bet of the 4th race (Equalisation IV, 1,600 m). Naduah (J. Bojko) and Areon (M. Abik) could be possible "setters".
