Eight races in Chantilly

Chantilly, Wednesday 1 March: The Fibersand track in Chantilly will again appear as the venue for eight exciting races today. The Prix du Carrefour Saint-Remy sales race (2nd race/14.30pm/23,000 euros/1300m) appeals to three-year-old horses.

Seven participants move into the boxes and Andre Fabres Balsamand (Malone Favriaux) could come off as the winner. The gelding showed an approach when fourth on his last start on this course, and his allowance rider today puts him among the favourites. Gauss (Cristian Demuro) weighs in at a whopping 13 pounds more. The Bietolini protégé has the class to beat them all, but is competing over sand for the first time. Garden Park (Fabrice Veron) is also a season and dirt debutant. She managed her first win ten months ago on her career debut. Grand Fêtard (Perrine Cheyer) and Chichimadame (Marie Verlon), like Balsamand, will be interesting with low marks. Claertina (Maxime Guyon) won in Deauville a year ago, but could not maintain the form later in three starts. Ilaria (Alexis Pouchin) presents herself for the second time after a pale debut.
