Four-year-olds in the Prix Renaud du Vivier

Auteuil, Sunday, November 27: The steeplechase stronghold in Auteuil will host eight steeplechase races today. The Prix Renaud du Vivier (6th race/13.58pm/250,000 euros/3900m) takes center stage. The Group 1 hurdle race is run as Grande Course de Haies des 4 Ans. In the dress rehearsal here on November 4, Il Est Francais (James Reveley) impressed so much with an eight-length victory over Ine Anjou (Bertrand Lestrade) that there is no way around another triumph for the gelding. Ine Anjou also cut a fine figure in her previous placing in the Prix de Maisons-Laffitte (Group 3) behind Hawaj du Berlais (Pierre Dubourg) and Imperial Mag (Antoine Coupu). In April, in the Prix de Pepinvast (Group 3), she defeated Hawai du Berlais, who later showed a superior performance in the Prix Alain du Breil (Group 1). La Cheneviere (Theo Chevillard) was without exception on the hunt course this year. A year ago she was a good second behind Hawai du Berlais in the Prix Magne (Group 3). Impressive Machin (Alain de Chitray) and Spirit of The Moon (Ludovic Philipperon) have two fresh wins.
