First `Amérique` qualifier in Vincennes

Paris-Vincennes, Sunday, 20 Novemer: The first qualifier for the Prix d`Amérique marks the main event at Vincennes today. 17 competitors are fighting for a ticket to the mega-race on the last Sunday in January. Opinions vary widely as there is no clear favourite.

Ampia Mede Sm (Franck Nivard) made a pleasing comeback in the Prix des Cevennes (Group 3) when second to Decoloration (Gabriele Gelormini) and could also ensure a filly win, as could the `richest` in the field, Flamme du Goutier (Theo Duvaldestin), who stood above her rivals in the Prix Isara (Course A) despite allowance and seems better than ever. Last year in the `Amérique` she finished well behind Galius (Yoann Lebourgeois), who only lost the victory after a blink of an eye finish. In his last appearance in the Prix d`Eté (Group 2), the Raimond protégé announced himself in third place. Italiano Vero (David Thomain) ended fourth behind expectations in the final of the Grand Prix de l`U.E.T. (Group 1), but before that he showed he was in top form with three wins in a row. With Hooker Berry (Nicolas Bazire) light and shadow alternate, on a good day he can be far. The same applies to Hip Hop Haufor (Christian Bigeon), for whom third place in the European Championships for five-year-olds (Group 1) speaks in favour of Hooker Berry and Hokkaido Jiel (Matthieu Abrivard). Jean-Michel Bazire chose Zarenne Fas, there will be a reason for that. Hussard du Landret (Benoit Robin) has established himself at the latest after his triumph in the Critérium des 5 Ans (group 1) in the top of the country and would not be a surprise as winner.
