Champion Chase at Down Royal

Down Royal, Saturday 5 November: Today`s second day of the Northern Ireland Festival at Down Royal sees the Champion Chase (4th race/15.32/150,000 Euro/4828m) take centre stage. Following the successful comeback of Galvin (Davy Russell) in the Coverage Chase (Group 3), the route to victory will be through Gordon Elliott`s charge, who saddles Conflated (Jack Kennedy), another contender with plenty of chances.

The Yeats son last ran in the Bowl Chase (Group 1) at Aintree, where he finished second by a length to Kemboy (Paul Townend). The latter was currently second in the Champion Chase (Group 2) at Gowran Park. Envoi Allen (Rachael Blackmore) and Beacon Edge (B. Cooper) are coming off the break. Both completed their last starts at Punchestown. The former finished third in the Champion Chase (Group 1), the Meade protégé did not get over the jumps without an accident in the Novice Chase (Group 1).
