Etonnant the star in the Prix d`Ete

Paris-Vincennes, Saturday, 10 September: Today`s event in Vincennes is dominated by the Prix d`Ete (6th race/17.03pm/200,000 Euro/2700m), which is part of Group 2. Nine participants will compete and the favourite role is borne by Etonnant (Anthony Barrier), who is in sustained top form and normally has no opponent to fear.

The Elitloppet winner only failed to beat his constant adversary Vivid Wise As at his most recent appearance in Cagnes-sur-Mer as well as here in the Prix Rene Balliere (Group 1). If Galius (Yoann Lebourgeois) has the form from the winter, when he lost the Prix d`Amérique (Group 1) by only centimetres, he could become a serious problem for the Westerink protégé. Currently he ran expressionless in the Prix Jean-Luc Lagardere (Group 2) and finished well behind surprise winner Delfino (Mathieu Mottier), whose form will be put to the test. Gu d`Heripre (Jean-Philippe Monclin) failed to confirm his triumph in the Prix Chambon P (Group 2) later in the Prix Rene Balliere (Group 1), but is again rated stronger in the long distance. Delia du Pommereux (David Thomain), who is usually placed, can also expect a better premium again. Dorgos de Guez (Jean-Michel Bazire), who is showing mixed form, has the hand of the champion, from whose quarter also Chalimar de Guez (Gabriele Gelormini) and Rebella Matters (Nicolas Bazire) come. Gangster du Wallon (Alexis Collette) is recommended by his place of honour in the Prix des Ducs de Normandie (Group 2) behind Etonnant.
