Many form horses in the July Cup

Newmarket, Saturday 9 July: The July Festival at Rowley Mile concludes today with a seven-race programme centred around the classic July Cup (6th race/5.25pm/600,000 pounds/1210m).

Perfect Power (Christoph Soumillon) held his own in the Commonwealth Cup (Group 1) in today`s hand, easily correcting the strike result previously taken in the English 2000 Guineas with an easy win over Flaming Rib (Ben Curtis). His pursuers include the Platinum Jubilee Stakes (Group 1) first-placed Naval Crown (James Doyle), Creative Force (William Buick) and Artorius (Jamie Spencer). Romantic Proposal (Chris Hayes), who has been performing well at List level recently, should also play a leading role. Alcohol Free (Rob Hornby) scored in last year`s Falmouth Stakes (Group 1) but has been a shadow of her former self recently at Ascot. Cadamosto (Seamie Heffernan) and Happy Romance (Sean Levey) have the class to cause a surprise.
