Best Lightning in the Summer Mile

Ascot, Saturday, 9 July: The Group 2 Summer Mile (4th race/16.35/140,000 pounds/1600m) at Ascot is today`s target for Andreas Suborics` Best Lightning (Martin Seidl), who, however, is only one of the outsiders in the seven-strong field.

The current auction race winner is having a very tough time and has a tough chunk to get out of the way with Chindit (Pat Dobbs). The four-year-old drew off brilliantly twice at classic level behind the unlosable Baaeed and is seen well ahead of My Oberon (Tom Marquand), Modern News (Hollie Doyle) and Perotto (Neil Callan), who settled a List race between them at Warwick. Mutasaabeq (Jim Crowley), who finished third in the Diomed Stakes (Group 3), is also expected to be in the front line.
