Ebaiyra hard to beat

Chantilly, Tuesday, July 12: Four- and five-year-old mares will contest today`s Prix de la Pepiniere (4th race/15.33/48,000 euros/2100 m) in Chantilly, which counts as a Listed class. Best class embodies Ebaiyra (Christophe Soumillon) trained by Francis-Henri Graffard for the Aga Khan. In the previous year, she achieved two victories at group level as well as placings at the very highest level. In the Hong Kong Vase (Group 1) Ebaiyra finished third, in the Grand Prix de Saint-Cloud (Group 1) the mare took the place of honor ahead of In Swoop, among others. Behind her is seen Any Time Soon (Mickael Barzalona), who finished fifth behind Ebaiyra in the Prix Zarkava (Listed race) and later cut a good figure in the Prix Gold River (Listed race) when third ahead of Solania (Maxime Guyon). Alula Borealis (Hugo Besnier) pleased in a similar fixture ahead of Galifa (Thomas Trullier), who then pinned a Quinté handicap to her banner at Longchamp. Amazonie (Cristian Demuro) should not be judged by her recent strike result, last year`s good performances speak for her. My Holy Fox (Stephane Pasquier) didn`t show anything useful for a while, but she shouldn`t have made the long way to France for nothing. Stormy Pouss (Antonio Orani) won last year on list level.
