Comeback of Tides of War

Compiegne, Monday, 11 July: Eight exciting races are up for decision at the Hippodrome de Compiegne today. One of the better races is the Prix de Saint-Crépin run as `Classe 2` (4th race/15.15 h/27,000 Euro/2400 m).

In the seven-strong field, the Andre Fabre-trained Tides of War (Adrian Le Lay Martin) enters as favourite under his permit rider. The four-year-old is making his comeback, having not competed since October. At that time, the Fabre protégé surprised in the Prix Chaudenay (Group 2), finishing third ahead of Alter Adler, among others. The priority is to beat Wheelie (Christophe Soumillon), who won twice in April and has since taken a break. Smile Makers (Mickael Barzalona), who only competed in the Prix Ganay (Group 1), also has good chances. On 19 May, the gelding finished in a good third place ahead of Whispering Ocean (Maxime Guyon), who ran very weakly after good previous performances. Sea Dreamin (Cristian Demuro) was too demanding in the Prix Vicomtesse Vigier (Group 2) and should do better in today`s company. Barbadin (Hugo Journiac) was currently in action over the obstacles. Sir George (Antoine Subias) could benefit from the favourable brand.
