Group 3 in Auteuil

Auteuil, Sunday, April 3: Eight top-class steeplechase races will be decided today in Auteuil. Once again, the Prix du President de la Republique (3rd race/15.15pm/225,000 euros/4700m), run as a Group 3 handicap, has been very well received. The chase race features 18 horses and sees fresh Listed winner King Elvis (Pierre Dubourg) as the winner. Among the referenced are the top six finishers in the Prix Lutteur III, which was decided here March 12. Avel de Kerbarh (Felix de Giles) won the black-type test by three lengths over Gooaaal (Clement Lefebvre), who defended second place against Black Boa (Lucas Zuliani), Darling des Bordes (James Reveley), Doux Dingue (Angelo Zuliani) and On Your Mark (Baptiste Meme).

The Prix Fleuret (5th race/16.25pm/135,000 euros/4400m) will be another chasing test decided over the heavy jumps. Latino des Isles (Pierre Dubourg) came back from the break with a class performance in the Prix Duc d`Anjou (Group 3). The protégé of Arnaud Chaille-Chaille defeated Tonguetted (James Reveley) by a narrow length and became the series winner. Before that, the gelding won the Prix Congress (Group 2) against Iniesta du Gouet (Angelo Zuliani) and Primco (Felix de Giles). The only mare in the field is the immensely fit La Cheneviere (Theo Chevillard). In her favor is a current win over Primco and the favorable brand.
