Four days of festival in Punchestown

Punchestown, Tuesday, 26 April: The Great Comeback Festival will take place on the obstacle course in Punchestown over four days.

Today`s Champion Chase Day will focus on the classic of the same name (4th race/18.25 h/270,000 Euro/3218 m). In the five-strong field, Energumene (Paul Townend) and Chacun Pour Soi (P. Mullins) clearly stand out. The latter won the match twelve months ago, then the Mullins protégé moved to the break. In the new season he managed a win in the Dublin Chase (Group 1) against Captain Guiness (Davy Russell), in the latest appearance in the Queen Mother Champion Chase (Group 1) he did not get over the jumps without an accident. The win went to training companion Energumene, who was beaten a length at the previous start in the Clarence House Chase (Group 1). Envoi Allen (Rachael Blackmore) drew off brilliantly at Cheltenham behind the eight-time winner in third. Andy Durfresne (Mark Walsh) finished in an excellent honours position in a Handicap Chase) on the same day.
