Taunton today

Only two meetings in the U.K. today, a very poor all-weather card at Southwell and a jumping fixture at Taunton. In our opinjon the most interesting races at the Somerset track are the two divisions of the novice hurdle over 3 miles 1 furlong, the first of which at 15.00 CET sees the hottest favourite of the day - Kingfisher Creek (Colin Tizzard/ Brendan Powell), who was runner-up the smart Aso last time, after winning here earlier. Although , as the only winner in the field, he has to concede 6 lbs all round, he looks very hard to beat here. The second division half an hour later is more open, but there are two interesting ex-German runners here- Floresco (Robert Woollacott/ Daryl Jacob), who has already run respectably twice over hurdles, and Lac Leman (Paul Nicholls/ Sam Twiston-Davies), making his debut over sticks. He was decent on the flat, just touched off in the Slovakian Derby (not the world´s greatest classic) and is now in the right hands, so we hope he makes a winning debut.
