full programme today

the weather has improved slightly, and so we have a full programme today, with jumps racing in the U.K. at Ayr and Catterick and in Ireland at Fairyhouse, with all-weather flat racing from Lingfield and Kempton (late start).
Obviously the going will be very testing at the jumps meetings and there are some quite small fields at the two British fixtures., including 3 runners in the novice chases at both meetings. The Last Samuri (Donald McCain/ Jason Maguire) is clear best on ratings at 15.20 CET at Ayr, but with her stable in such good form we prefer Lucinda Russell´s Island Heights (Craig Nicol). Russell could have quite a profitable afternoon and we like several of her runners, notably German-bred Amore Mio (Peter Buchansn) at 16.55.
A German-bred we like at Catterick is Local Hero (Steve Gollings/ AP McCoy) in the handicap hurdle at 15.40. He has not won for ages but is now down to his lowest rating in a long time, and may have most to fear from another seemingly well-handicapped runner Conquisto (Brian Ellison/ Craig Gallagher).
There is also a runner with an interesting German pedigree at Fairyhouse, Mr. Lando, (Gordon Elliott/ Colin Bolger) at 15.15. He is difficult to fancy on form, but this is another stable having an excellent season.
