listed race this evening

the only black type race today is the listed race over 1 1/2 miles at 20.10 CET on Kempton´s all-weather track. Chiberta King (Andrew Balding/ Jimmy Fortune) makes his comeback here but we cannot fancy him after almost a year off and over this trip, normally much too short for this out-and-out stayer. Consistent Grendisar (Marco Botti/ Martin Harley) looks the best of the older horses but he is also coming off a break and we much prefer the 3yo Rydan (Robert Mills/ Tom Queally), a very easy winner here last time from Carnevale (Ralph Beckett/ Paul Hanagan), who reopposes on slightly better terms. Rydan is up sharply in grade, but this is a weak field for a listed race and he can win again.
The flat racing this afternoon at Nottingham is not inspiring, with 3 large-field handicaps over 5 furlongs. It Must be Faith (Mike Appleby/ Hayley Turner)won easily over this CD last week and could score again under a penalty at 15.20, and if so, this would point to the chances of Rylee Mooch (Richard Guest/ Andrew Elliott/ Andrew Mullen) at 16.25, who was the runner-up then.
Of today´s two jumps meetings, Warwick has the better card and Grumeti (Alan King/ Wayne Hutchinson), a Grade One winner over hurdles, should win the novice chase at 15.30. German-bred Golden Doyen (Philip Hobbs/ Richard Johnson) made a good debut over sticks and can take the 3yo maiden hurdle at 15.00, while smart staying chaser Mendip Express (Harry Fry/ Noel Fehily) can also score over hurdles at 16.05.
