5 meetings today

four jumps cards this afternoon and a poor all-weather card at Wolverhampton this evening comprise today´s racing. At Wolverhampton the only race of interest is the 9 1/2 furlongs handicap at 20.40 CET,in which Marco Botti has a strong hand with top-weight Solar Diety (Martin Harley) and ex-Brazilian Energia Flavia (Ryan Tate), with Ascot runner-up Maverick Wave (John Gosden/ Rab Havlin) the obvious danger.
There are very small fields at Fakenham´s jumps meeting, where Nicky Henderson can land a hat-trick with Broxbourne at 15.20 and Nicolas Charvin half an hour later, both partnered by Barry Geraghty, and the Queen´s Jack Frost (Peter Carberry) in the bumper at 16.50, but none of them will pay much.
Henderson also has good propects at Towcester with Leaderofthedance (Andrew Tinkler) in the mares maiden hurdle at 16.10, but here we prefer Hurricanes Girl (Jonjo O´Neill/ Richie McLernon), who made an excellent debut over sticks a fortnight ago.
Our best bet today is ex-German Nexius (Keith Dalgleish/ Wilson Renwick) in the handicap hurdle at 16.00 at Musselburgh. He was third to Novellist in the Union-Rennen when trained by Waldemar Hickst; he took some time to find his feet in the U.K. but won his last 2 races last season, and although he has been bumped up 22 lbs for that, we think that he is still better than this handicap rating.
In Ireland, Couleur France (Noel Meade/ Paul Carberry), who has been placed several times, both in bumpers and over sticks, can finally get off the mark in the maiden hurdle at 14.55 at Thurles.
