Jamie Spencer over hurdles

3 N.H.meetings today, mainly at a low level, and the fields at Lingfield are very small as well. The most interesting race here is the handicap hurdle at 15.30 CET, where the 5 runners are all ridden by professional flat jockeys. The star of the show is Jamie Spencer, who partners German-bred Lyssio for Jim Best. Lyssio is a half-brother to German Derby winner Lucky Speed and also to several winning hurdlers, and we hope he wins here.

The best card today is at Huntingdon and Barry Geraghty once again looks the man to follow. He can take the noivice hurdle at 14.40 on John Ferguson´s El Namoosa and can follow up with two top-weights trained by Nicky Henderson- Volnay de Thaix at 15.10 and My Wigwam or Yours half an hour later.

There are more small fields at Sedgefield, where top Irish trainer Gordon Elliott saddles 3 runners. He has an extremely good strike rate on his raids in the U.K. so we expect a winner or two-or possibly all 3.
