5 poor meetings today

More low level racing at today´s 5 meetings, including the Irish N.H. card at Ballinrobe. The most interesting race there is the chase over 2 miles 7 furlongs at 18.40 CET, which should lie between Rough Justice (Willie Mullins/ Paul Townend) and Seefood (Dessie Hughes/ Barry Geraghty). Seefood was the better hurdler and after falling at the last - when in the lead - on his first chase, then won next time over fences, but Rough Justice, who made a very encouraging chasing debut when winning over this CD 4 weeks ago looks the better prospect and is preferred.

Best race in the U.K. is the 5 furlongs conditions event at 16.45 at Beverley, in which 2 of the 6 runners are one-time Group One winners over this trip: KIngsgate Native (Robert Cowell/ Jim Crowley), who won the Nunthorpe in 2007, and Tangerine Trees (Bryan Smart/ Phillip Makin), who took the Abbaye in 2011. The former still has plenty of ability and is much preferred of this pair, but perhaps the youngster Green Door (Olly Stevens/ Andrea Atzeni), a Group Two winner last year, can outspeed them both.

The top Jockeys are all at Lingfield today - Dettori, Moore, Buick, Doyle, Spencer etc, but frankly the racing is pretty awful. German-bred Mister Bob (James Bethell/ Ted Durcan) is an interesting runner in the 2 mile handicap at 16.55. He has won his last 2 races, one of them over this CD, and although up in the weights by 6 lbs can score again.
Charlie Appleby saddled no fewer than 6 winners for Godolphin yesterday; he has two runners in the race for 2yo maiden fillies at 18.20 at Newcastle, and perhaps Hollie Point (Ahmed Ajtebi) - though clearly no star- can continue his winning run .
