Glorious Goodwood ends today with the Group One Nassau Stakes for fillies and mares over 10 furlongs at 16.15 CET the main event. To be honest, this looks a slightly substandard field, but the 7 runners include a fancied candidate from France and Ireland. The former is the Aga Khan´s Narniyn (Alain de Royer-Dupré/ Christophe Soumillon) while the latter is Venus de Milo (Aidan and Joseph O´Brien), but while respecting their claims we do not really fancy either - in our opinion the French filly needs some rain and the Irish filly a longer distance. John Gosden has won the last 2 runnings, and now has 2 runners, the 4yo Sultanina (William Buick) and the 3yo Eastern Belle (Jimmy Fortune). The former is very lightly-raced and seems worth a try in this grade. However our main hope is Mango Diva (Sir Michael Stoute/ Ryan Moore), who loves firm ground and could be good enough.
