Group race at Leopardstown this evening

the Irish evening meeting at Leopardstown has easily the best racing of the day, with the Group Three Ballyogan Ttakes for fillies over 6 furlongs at 20.50 CET the main feature. 4 4yo´s and 4 3yo´s line up. with the younger fillies clearly the most interesting, and in particular two extremely well-bred daughters of Oasis Dream. Joyeuse (Lady Cecil/ James Doyle) is a half-sister to Frankel, while Sparrow (Aidan and Joseph O´Brien) is out of a full sister to Galileo. Pedigrees do not come much better than that. From the form point of view Joyeuse can possibly be preferred after her easy listed win last time at Haydock (runner-up Gathering Poser/ Eddie Lynam/ Ferrgal Lynch) well held), but Sparrow, though easily beaten on her seasonal debut in March, should not be overlooked. Seas of Wells (John Oxx/ Declan McDonogh), unplaced in a listed race at Naas last time, looks next best. Also on the Leopardstown Card is a listed mile race at 20.20 and that can go to the oldest horse in the field, 6yo Along Came Casey (Dermot Weld/ Pat Smullen). She has been off the track for 9 months, but won the race last year and is easily top-rated. Pearl of Africa (Lynam/ Colin Keane) is the main danger.

The best racing in the U.K. today comes from Newbury, where there is a listed race for 3yo fillies over 10 furlongs at 16.25. To be honest, this does not look a strong race and most of the fillies are running in the hope of picking up some cheap black type as they are not good enough to run in group races. 3 of the runners met in a similar race at Goodwood last time, where Eastern Belle (Jophn Gosden/ William Buick) was runner-up, while Uchenna (David Simcock/ Adam Kirby) and Jordan Princess (Luca Cumani/ Andrea Atzeni) took the last two places. Eastern Belle is therefore the logical choice here, but she is still a maiden and we shall take a chance on Jordan Princess, who could not have given her true form in that race and whose earlier form reads well.
