listed race this evening

the best race at today´s 5 meetings - 3 of them flat racing on the all-weather- is the listed race over 1 1/2 miles this evening at Kempton at 19.00 CET. There is even a German runner here, Jeanie Johnston, owned and trained by Irishman Paul Harley and ridden by his nephew Martin, but this last-time-out Hoppegarten winner needs to improve to figure here, although she has won 3 times in France on the all-weather. On ratings the race should mainly concern Fattsota (David O´Meara/ Graham Lee), sixth in the Prix Dollar, and Banoffee (Hughie Morrison/ Jim Crowley), seventh in the Oaks. Banoffee finished fourth here a month ago behind Livia´s Dream (Ed Walker/ Tom McLaughlin), but that one was a 100-1 chance that day and on overall form we prefer Banoffee.
The other all-weather meetings have llttle of interest, although we shall take another chance on Mia´s Boy (Chris Dwyer/ Robert Tart) in the 10 furlongs handicap at Lingfield at 15.35. His best form is at a mile but he has been placed over this CD and usually finishes well, so could be thereabouts today in this rather tricky event.
Once again there are some very small fields in the N.H. meetings at Wetherby and Fontwell. The behinners chase ast 13.50 looks the most interesting event at the Yorkshire track and should lie between Indian Castle (Donald McCain/ Jason Maguire), first or second in his last 4 races over hurdles and making his chase debut here, and Seymour Eric (Martin Keighley/ Ian Popham), who won 5 of his last 6 races over sticks before making a pleasing debut over fences when third behind the smart Smad Place; he is our choice today.
Our main fancy at Fontwell is German-bred Promised Wings (Chris Gordon/ Tom Cannon) in the 2 1/2 mile handicap hurdle at 15.10. The Monsun gelding ran badly on his seasonal debut, but that was over 3 miles on heavy ground at Chepstow; this trip and less testing ground should suit much better.
