interesting newcomers over jumps

today´s flat racing is of very low quality, but there are some interesting newcomers over jumps who should be watched. David Pipe sends Azza and The Liquidator on the long journey to Carlisle and both are expected to win with stable jockey Tom Scudamore in the saddle. The former runs in the 3yo hurdle at 14.10 CET and his French form should be good enough for him to score on his British debut, while the latter is a Grade One bumper winner making his hurdling debut at 15.10. Spookydooky (Jonjo O´Neill/ Tony McCoy), who has already run a decent race over sticks, looks the only danger and his team remain in tremendous form. They can in any case take the handicap chase at 15.40 with Full of Joy. These are McCoy´s only rides of the day, but it is widely expected that he will reach the almost unbelievable total of 4,000 winners over jumps in the next few days.

In Ireland, the first 4 races at Punchestown will be run 5 minutes later than advertised. Lucky Bridle (Willie Mullins/ Ruby Walsh) makes his hurdling debut at 14.10; he was listed class on the flat in France and was bought for a high price by his new connections. Morning Assembly /(Pat Fahy/ Walsh) and Our Vinnie (Charlie Byrnes/ RJ Jones) are two of last season´s top novice hurdlers making their chasing debut at 16.10. There are high hopes for both of them. but today we prefer the former. We also expect Too Scoops (Henry de Bromhead/ Andrew Lynch) to make up for last time´s mishap by winning the beginners chase at 15.40, while Thunder and Roses (Dessie Hughjes/ Davy Russell) can take the maiden hurdle at 14.40.
