Group race at the Curragh today

The flat season is slowly getting into gear and today´s Curragh card features the Group Three Gladness Stakes over 7 furlongs at 16.20 CET. This is a very tricky race, with the sole British raider Arnold Lane (Mick Channon/ Martin Harley) and Lily´s Angel (Ger Lyons/ Gary Carroll) both coming back from good runs in Dubai. Aidan and Joseph O´Brien are represented by Nephrite, a smart 2yo who has not run for almost a year, while Yellow Rosebud (Dermot Weld/ Pat Smullen) was beaten at odds-on here a fortnight ago. This is not really a good race to bet on, but our choice is Yellow Rosebud, who can be expected to be much fitter this time and will also be suited by the better going. The best horse running here however is Parish Hall (Jim Bolger/ Kevin Manning), who runs in the listed race over 10 furlongs at 17.20. He has not run since taking the Dewhurst Stakes 18 months ago; obviously there must be a reason for his long absense, but with the Bolger stable already in excellent for m, we expect him to score convincingly today.

Betting forecast:
1. Race: Coach House - Highland Falcon - Freedom Square
2. Race: Moth - Wannabe Better - Sea Shadow
3. Race: La Collina - Yellow Rosebud - Nephrite
4. Race: Teoranta - Maude Adams - Daring Man
5. Race: Steps To Freedom - Parish Hall - Ernest Hemingway
6. Race: Beach Of Falesa - Saint Gervais - Something Graceful
7. Race: Hudson`s Bay - Ruler Of The World - Timikar
