Fairyhouse Easter meeting: third and final day

the Fairyhouse meeting goes into its final day today and with summertime now here (!!) there is a late start, with the first of 8 races at 16.35 CET. This is the grade three hurdle for 4yo´s, unfortunately with only 4 runners, two of them trained by Willie Mullins for Susannah Ricci. Ruby Walsh is on Dogora, who is presumably the stable´s number one, although he has little in hand of Dalasiri (Sabrina Harty/ Andrew Lynch). That jockey could be in for a good day, and we expect him to win the following Normans Grove Chase at 17.05 with Henry de Bromhead´s Days Hotel, who has won 4 of his last 5 races, although arguably very lucky last time. He has to give weight to his 3 rivals here, but is still clear best on ratings.
The other graded race is the mares chase at 18.05, which has a bigger field, but we think it can be boiled down to two runners, Blazing Tempo (Mullins/ Walsh) and English raider Nadiya de la Vega (Nicky Henderson/ Tony McCoy). With the big Aintree meeting starting on Thursday, there are far fewer runners from the U.K. here as there will be at Punchestown at the end of the month, but Henderson is having a great season and at these weights we prefer his runner, who will also suited by the drying ground.
The big betting race here is the handicap hurdle at 17.35 with 23 runners, and as we saw yesterday with a 50- 1 winner in the big chase here, almost anything is possible. Ted Walsh is one of ther shrewdest trainers around, and has again put up his daughter Katie on the improving mare Summer Star, who has finished strongly to win her last two races. She meets stronger opposition here and on her last running has nothing in hand of Captain Arceus (Dessie Hughes/ Bryan Cooper) and Sizing Machine (de Bromhead/ Lynch), while the better ground will certainly help the chances of the two top-weights Fosters Cross (Tom Mullins/ Paul Townend) and Hisaabaat (Dermot Weld/ Mark Walsh). Gordon Elliott is in red-hot form and saddles 3 runners, the best of which is probably Shadow Catcher (Davy Condon), 4th of 28 in the County Hurdle at Cheltenham, with several of these behind. It is impossible to be confident about anything in this race, but our three against the field are Hisaabaat, Shadow Catcher and Summer Star.

Betting forecast:
1. Race: Dogora - Dalasiri - Djakadam
2. Race: Days Hotel - Bob Lingo - Foildubh

3. Race: Shadow Catcher - Summer Star - Barneys Honour
