Doncaster abandoned, Newbury inspection

The forecast snow has finally arrived and Doncaster´s card today, featuring the Lincoln handicap, the first big race of the turf season, has been abandoned. The whole card will now be repeated next Saturday. The only meetings now left are a good N.H. card at Newbury, where an inspection is to held later, and an emergency all-weather fixture at Southwell. The other N.H. meetings for today, Bangor, Kelso, Stratford and Gowran Park were already called off yesterday.
