3 more poor meetings today

Tuesday is often the weakest day of the week and this is certainly the case today, with 3 very poor cards. It is interesting that Richatrd Johnson and Noel Fehily both go to Leicester today for just one ride - Philip Hobbs´ Volador in the 3 mile novice chase at 17.00 CET and Charlie Longsdon´ s Great´s Autrechene in the handicap chase at 18.00, so both must be respected - even though the latter has not run since being pulled up twice at the end of 2011. However the opposition here looks equally unappealing. Daryl Jacob is another top jockey with just one ride and he can take the handicap chase at 16.00 on Ben de Haan´s Nom de Guerrre, who will find the drying ground in his favour.

At Catterick, Buthelezi (John Ferguson/ Jack Quinlan) looks hard to beat in the novice hurdle at 16.5o; a useful flat horse for John Gosden, he won his first race over the sticks in good style before finding Grade One company too hot in Ireland last time. Back in this company he must have a great chance. Two more meeting weaker opposition this time are Clouded Thoughts (Venetia Williams/ Aidan Coleman) and Makethe Mostofnow (Evan Williams/ Paul Moloney), who clash in the novice chase at 16.20, and the two Williams (no relation) runners should dominate here.
The card for the all-weather meeting at Lingfield is very weak; we expect the much-improved Broxbourne (Mark Johnston/ Joe Fanning) to complete a fourtimer here in the 2 mile handicap at 18.10, now that her stable is hitting form. She is trying this trip for the first time, but that should normally be no problem.
