The Dubai Carnoval continues today with another strongh card. Main event is the BGfroup Two Cape Verdi lovcer a mile on turf at 17.50. 4 of the 8 runners are owned by Godolphin, with Sajjhaa (Saaed bin Suroor/ Silvestre de Sousa) possibly the best of them. She is very consistent and was twice runner-up in the Group Two Middleton Stakes at York. However First City (Ali Rashid al Raihe/ Royston Ffrench) won this last year, beating tne smart Mahbooba, and a repetition of that form would probably be good enough. Obviously we are interested in the German runners today and think that Theo Danon (Mario Hofer/ Adrie de Vries) must have a good each way chance in the 9 furlongs handicap at 16.05. The same team have Smooth Operator running in the 6 furlongs conditions race at 17.15, and he ran a great race here a fornight ago; however today´s opposition looks stronger, while ex-German Govinda was very disappointing on that occasion and needs to improve dramatically.
