U.K. racing today

racing is on everywhere today, but after all the recent rain (and it´s not finished yet!) the ground will be very testing all over.
Best race in the U.K. is the Grade One Challow Hurdle for novices over 2 miles 5 furlongs at 15.45 CET this is always won by a decent performer and we think that Taquin du Seuil (Jonjo O´Neill/ Tony McCoy) fits the bill today. He was most impressive last time at Sandown and probably has Northern raider Clondaw Kaempfer (Donald McCain/ Jason Maguire), winner of his last 3 races, to beat. McCoy could be in for a good afternoon, as we also like his chances on CD specialist Rey Nacarado (Charlie Longsdon) in the staying handicap chase at 15.10 - he won the race last year and is only one pound higher - and My Tent or Yours (Nicky Henderson) in the final introductory hurdle at 16.50 - a race the trainer, who also saddles bumper winner Chatterbox (Barry Geraghty) - has won 5 times in the last 6 years. The handicap hurdle at 16.15 looks very tricky; top-weight Any Given Day (McCain/ Maguire) is the class act here, but he has not run for a year and most concede a stone or more all rou nd. We shall take a chance on German-bred El Dancer (Luvcy Wadham/ Aidan Coleman), although he has been put up 5 lbs for finishing second last time, which seems a bit unfair.
Another German-bred we like today is Solis (Dianne and Liz Sayer) in the handicap hurdle at 14.25 at Kelso, while our fancies at Doncaster are Categorical (Keith and James Reveley) at 15.55 and bottom weight Cropley (Tony Carroll/ Lee Edwards) half an hour later; we don´t normally like to back 3yo´s against older horses over hurdles, but this one may have crept in here on a very favourable rating. Top-weight Blackwater King (McCain/ Adrian Lane) is obviously the one to beat, but Cropley (e.w.) looks better value.
