Heavy ground - but racing on

There is still lots of rain about and the ground will be heavy almost everywhere, but almost all cards on today´s monster Boxing Day programme are expected to go ahead. Huntingdon, already called off a couple of days ago, is the only abandonment (so far). However Chepstow´s Welsh Grand National meeting tomorrow has been cancelled and it is hoped now to run the race on Saturday week January 5th. There should be no problems at Kempton for today´s King George, but the very testing ground will certainly have an influence on results and there are likely to be some non-runners. so punters should be careful.
